@cabitzaf @drfeifei That’s a great argument and I see where you are coming from. One of the most frustrating things about this field is when it is incorrectly applied. The Children-Computer Interaction people I work with care very deeply about ethics and responsibility as well as design. 🔄 1 👍 1 Original URL

@buddhaumd @iduncan It’s $72 one way from my neighborhood to the national mall via UberX. Back and forth would be ~150. Four kids in the car would $35 each. It was just a thought experiment when I saw $100k for buses. 🔄 0 👍 1 Original URL
@iduncan Thanks for that. 3000 kids just sounds like a lot. Based on 2016 census data, 15% of Baltimore’s population is 6-18. Let’s split that for 12-18 so it’s ~43k kids. We’re going to send 7% of that group? Sounds like a lot. Also, 60 buses @ 100k would be ~$1667 per bus. 🔄 0 👍 0 Original URL
@iduncan Based on my calc, an Uber would be ~$35 per kid round trip (4 to a car). 100k covets more than 2500 kids going. If we’re taking 2500 kids, that’s ~50 school buses. Are buses $2000 each!? Do we plan on sending more than 2500 kids? 🔄 0 👍 3 Original URL
@iduncan How many buses will it be? That sounds super expensive for renting. 🔄 0 👍 0 Original URL
